Rowan Atkinson’s madcap and quirky creation Mr. Bean is not only a longtime PBS Fort Wayne fan favorite, it is a global phenomenon having been in continual distribution for over 30 years and seen in over 200 territories worldwide.
Now available in HD, this inventive, innovative comedy series returns to PBS Fort Wayne at 10pm Saturday nights on our main channel (39.1).
Based on a character originally developed by Atkinson while he was studying for his master’s degree at the University of Oxford, the series centers on Mr. Bean, described by Atkinson as “a child in a grown man’s body”, as he solves various problems presented by everyday tasks and often causes disruption in the process. The show follows Mr. Bean as he tries to extricate himself from embarrassing situations but only ends up getting himself in more trouble.
Mr. Bean has won many awards plus an International Emmy® and is written by some of the UK’s leading comic talent including Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill) and Ben Elton (Blackadder, The Young Ones).
