Vocal Arts Conference, “Singing for Life”
A three-day gathering for the inspiration and on-going education of aspiring and professional vocalists, choral directors, vocal music educators, and singing enthusiasts. Keynote speakers feature two world-renowned vocalists and pedagogues, Dr. George Shirley and Professor Karen Brunssen. Conference culminates in a Festival Concert featuring the opera, "The Three Hermits," and the choral work, "Lux Aeterna."

This performance is presented in conjunction with Heartland Sings annual Vocal Arts Conference. This year’s theme is “Singing for Life” and culminates with the performance of two great works. Stephen Paulus’ opera, THE THREE HERMITS, tells the time-honored story by Leo Tolstoy which teaches us about inclusiveness and how God’s love is extended to all humanity. Morton Lauridsen’s exquisite choral work LUX AETERNA (which means “Light Eternal”) will be our tribute to those who have been lost to the pandemic.…
